Name of Assignment: Chapter 5 Journal
Subject: Psy 100
Facilitator/Teacher: Dr. Fox
Description of Work/Assignment: Every week, we write a journal for psychology on the chapter we’ve read that week. This journal is about Chapter 5: Sensation and Perception and is 2,280 words.
Further Elaboration: I’m proud of the depth of this journal. It’s 2,280 words as opposed to the minimum required length of 250 words; I often spend five or more hours a week on my journal. I’d consider the time I spent on it to be the most difficult part of the assignment. This chapter covered many things, but during one of our classes, we focused on illusions. Many illusions such as the Muller-Lyer illusion are influenced by cultures, and I used my global awareness skills while working on this assignment. As far as improving this work, considering that I wrote over 2,000 words more than required and got a 12/10 on the assignment, I don’t think that’s a relevant topic to discuss. My psychology professor, Dr. Fox, has taught multiple classes on cultural psychology, and this class has only improved my global awareness skills; I’m confident I will be able to use these skills in the future.
