In AP Computer Science, our class did an acitvity based on gerrymandering. We drew a town on a whiteboard and added pink and purple dots to represent voters from different parties. Then we chose a political bias and created four different districts. The project allowed us to conceptualize data manipulation and look at the midterm elections under a different lense. After the exercise was over, I made more dots and districts to see what the highest ratio of purple to pink dots was that I could use to rig the elections (which was about a two-thirds majority). This was a small project and I'm proud that I was able to enjoy working on it. It helped me further improve my Civic Literacy and Engagements skills and I would not do it differently.
