This year I'm taking ENG 257 Monster in Lit, and we've been reading books about vampires. Every week we answer analysis questions about the test citing quotes to support our claims. At the end of the book, there is a unit analysis that must be 400-600 words, answer 3 questions, and use text from the book to support arguments. My unit analysis for Carmilla was chosen for the "Parade of Accolades" by my Professor.
One 21st Century Skill I used in this project was global awareness. Carmilla took place in the Victotian Era and therefore it's important to read and analyze the book with that in mind. The most difficult part of this project was worrying about doing it correctly. This was our first end of unit analysis, so I felt a bit uncertain, and read of the rubic plenty of times. This class is my first experience with literary anlaysis, but past reading discussions helped me complete this assignment. I will definitely apply the knowledge I've gained from this project to future end of unit analyses.
I've really enjoyed this class as well as this project, but it's very rigorous; I'm proud of myself for completing my work in this class and of the things I've noticed while analyzing the text. If I had to improve this project, I wouldn't. It took me a long time and I did a great job.
