I chose my Issue Analysis for my American Democracy class as my first worksample. For this project we had to identify and describe an issue important to us that could be written as a bill. Then, we had to find multiple reliable sources, and use the information found to describe the problem and it’s causes, effects, and significance. I worked on my Issue Analysis for about nine hours, and it’s the project that I’m proudest of this quarter. The 21st Century skill that I believe represents my work on this project best is: Civic Literacy and Engagement. The Issue Analysis project was used to gather information for our Bill, and we will later present that Bill to our class in a mock Congress. This allows me to understand how our government works, and participate and help our community. This project challenged me to write objectively, and use skills that I often use to write research papers. I did hours of research and had to sift through my notes to find the relevant information. The vast amounts of research I did showcase how much I care about queer rights. If I were to improve this project, I would look through old court cases relating to conversion therapy, and current laws that regulate/ban it. |
